BROUWLAND BIERCOMPETITIE 2022. Zaterdag 4 maart 2023 vond de semi finale van de 8ste Brouwland Biercompetitie plaats in Brewmine Tap (Hasselt) en Beers from Limburg mocht deel uitmaken van de professionele jury. De Brouwland Biercompetitie start met 99 hobbybrouwers uit België, Nederland en Frankrijk. Na de eerste selectie bleven er 30 hobbybrouwers over. Op 4 maart 2023, hebben de 10 juryleden (2,5 uur lang en verdeeld over 3 tafels) de 10 beste bieren geproefd en geselecteerd die doorgaan naar de volgende ronde welke zal plaatsvinden op 19 maart 2023, tijdens The Beer Experience in Heusden-Zolder.
Ieder jurylid heeft eerst de bieren individueel beoordeeld (van licht naar sterk in smaak en alcoholpercentage) om vervolgens besproken te worden door het team. Elk team werd voorgezeten door een BJCP-erkende kapitein die zorgde voor de juiste werking en ook voor consensus binnen het team.
De 10 finalisten die op 19 maart 2023 zullen meedoen en nog kans maken op de eerste prijs zijn: Jop Van Lamoen - Wim Vuegen - Tyas Swinnen - Gert Sels - Gregory Bultot - Paulo Guilherme de Souza Junior - David Tillemans - Sjaak Vennink - Koen Sels - Robin Wouters.
De beste 3 laureaten zullen daarna beoordeeld worden door de internationale jury van Brussels Beer Challenge. De beste hobbybrouwer van België, Nederland en Frankrijk zal dan bekend zijn. Voor ons juryleden was het ook een mooie ervaring waar wij elkaar ontmoet hebben; opinies en ervaringen hebben kunnen uitwisselen en waar wij hebben kunnen genieten van hoogkwalitatieve (hobby) bieren. Succes gewenst aan alle finalisten en ook een dikke proficiat aan alle deelnemers! Jullie zorgen ervoor dat de artisanale bierwereld beter wordt.
BROUWLAND BEER COMPETITION 2022. Saturday, March 4, 2023, the semi-final of the 8th Brouwland Beer Competition took place in Brewmine Tap (Hasselt) and Beers from Limburg was part of the professional jury. The Brouwland Beer Competition starts with 99 hobby brewers from Belgium, the Netherlands and France. After the first selection, 30 hobby brewers remained. On March 4, 2023, the 10 jury members (for 2.5 hours and divided over 3 tables) tasted and selected the 10 best beers that will continue to the next round, which will take place on March 19, 2023 during The Beer Experience in Heusden-Zolder.
Each jury member first assessed the beers individually (from light to strong in flavour and strength) and then discussed the beers with the team. Each team was presided over by a BJCP licensed captain who ensured proper operation and also consensus within the team.
The 10 finalists who will participate on March 19, 2023 and still have a chance to win the first prize are: Jop Van Lamoen - Wim Vuegen - Tyas Swinnen - Gert Sels - Gregory Bultot - Paulo Guilherme de Souza Junior - David Tillemans - Sjaak Vennink - Koen Sels - Robin Wouters.
The best 3 laureates will then be judged by the international jury of the Brussels Beer Challenge. The best hobby brewer in Belgium, the Netherlands and France will then be known. For us judges it was also a nice experience where we met; have been able to exchange opinions and experiences and where we have been able to enjoy high-quality (hobby) beers.
